Nathaniel Lyman




Nathaniel has a broad solicitor’s practice in the areas of film, television, digital media, and music.  His clients include actors, directors, producers, musicians, visual artists, and others in the creative fields.  Nathaniel advises on corporate matters, drafts agreements, provides opinions on copyright and clearances, and offers guidance on various production-related issues.  He was called to the British Columbia bar in 2013 after completing his articles at Miller Thomson LLP in Vancouver.  Nathaniel was an associate at Atkins & Company prior to its merger with Chandler Fogden.

Nathaniel graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2012. He obtained his B.A. from Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Nathaniel remains active in the arts community as a board member of Up In The Air Theatre Company, and a member of Alliance of Aboriginal Media Professionals. Nathaniel has also given lectures at Women in Film and Television Vancouver, and at Simon Fraser University.

Prior to studying law, Nathaniel worked in television production on various Canadian television series and feature films.  In 2009, he produced and directed a short film that premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival.

In his spare time, Nathaniel makes short videos, plays the guitar, and travels the globe.
